Heat Treatment Database

More than 425,000 data sets. In 25 countries worldwide: Our Heat Treatment Database (StahlWissen®) was created more than a quarter of a century ago – thanks to continuous further development it is now state of the art when it comes to steel and its heat treatment. Heat treatment Database (StahlWissen®) gives you access to the most up-to-date material data with references and offers simulation technology at the highest level!

Heat Treatment Database

One of the outstanding features of steel is the ability to set very different properties by means of specific heat treatments. The variety of steel grades and the different process possibilities in heat treatment were the reason for developing a material database more than 25 years ago that meets the special requirements of operational heat treatment. Heat treatment Database (StahlWissen®) provides comprehensive information for heat treaters, materials engineers, designers, and interested parties from the fields of quality assurance, standardization, and materials purchasing and sales in the industry, science, education, and business.

Turn our knowledge into your advantage: With the aid of digitized and vectorized time-temperature conversion diagrams for continuous cooling and isothermal conversion, calculated cooling curves can be implemented graphically. The cooling curves are precisely calculated using a FEM program integrated into the Heat treatment Database (StahlWissen®). Another unique selling point is the quenchants database: practically all quenchants used in heat treatment technology have been measured and stored as a temperature-dependent function of the heat transfer coefficient. This means that the user always finds his individual operating conditions for his calculations. The Heat Treatment Database (StahlWissen®) can also be flexibly expanded with your own data and documents: for a standard material, you can insert and store your own limit values or property profiles, right up to complete delivery specifications.
